President’s Letter December 2023
Bettye June McGraw, 84, of Fishers, IN, passed peacefully at home on November 24, 2023. Bettye’s last day was spent enjoying the traditions of Thanksgiving surrounded by family who loved her dearly.Born in Kentucky on June 17, 1939, she was the daughter of Arthur and Morbrey Lindsey and was a devoted wife to her late husband of 40 years, Chet McGraw. Bettye worked in retail management and accounting for over 20 years, retiring in 2010. She was involved in several clubs and social organizations including Mud Socks Quilting Club, The Red Hat Society, and Legacy Bible Church. Bettye enjoyed playing cards with her community group at Britton Falls, gardening, and was a wonderful seamstress and baker.Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038.Bettye is survived by her daughter, Joni (James) Nelson; grandchildren, Jason (Stacey) McGraw, Trisha McGraw, Justin (Deanna) Pebworth and Amber (Joseph) Azbell; great grandchildren, Taylor McGraw, Hannah McGraw, Riley McGraw, Olivia and Elijah Pebworth, and Evan, Abigail, Madelyn, Amelia, and Palmer Azbell; sister, Glenda Hardy; brother, Gene Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet McGraw; siblings, Orville, Jay, and Ray Lindsey, Ann Brockman, Wilma Stinchfield, and Lou DeLucco.Bettye will be remembered for her love of Jesus Christ and devotion to her family. May she rest in peace and find eternal happiness with the friends and loved ones that have preceded her in death.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Global Illumination at 
Victoria Ann Smith,65, of Indianapolis, passed away November 27, 2023. She was born July 22, 1958 in Lafayette, IN, to James and Carol McGreevey. Vickie was a graduate of Delphi High School and received her bachelor’s degree from St. Francis College. She married Robert L. “Bob” Smith on September 12, 1987, and was an office manager for various businesses in the Indianapolis area. Vickie was a longtime member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church where she played guitar and sang for school mass and church services for over ten years. After retiring Vickie started her own quilting business called “Quilting by Vickie” and was a member of the Mudsock Quilters Guild.Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis., with visitation there one hour prior.Vickie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert L. Smith; children, Ryan Smith and Sarah Jones (Tom); grandson, Thomas R. Jones (due January 2024); sisters, Brenda Dages (Tim) and Kellie Martin; brother-in-law, Wayne Kenney; and several nieces and nephews.
