Quilts of Valor for January
The Quilts of Valor Committee is asking for your help to make one or more blocks to create many quilts for honored veteran recipients in 2025. We will be turning in our completed blocks at the January meeting, so we hope you have time in this busy season to put together a block (or several) for a veteran.
The block is pictured, and the instructions are HERE.
November Program
Please join us on Monday, November 11th, to hear our presenter, Julie Boldry of The Scarlet Thread Quilt Company in Twelve Mile, IN. She will be giving us a trunk show of her quilts that will include a decade of quilts featuring several patterns original to her shop! She will also be vending so bring your cash, checkbook or credit card!! See you then!
November President’s Letter
Dear Friends,
I’m looking forward to our quilt show on November 9th! Are you bringing your friends and family? The
article in Current in Fishers, along with all the great publicity, should ensure a great turnout – and there is
no SNOW in the forecast (remember that?)! Be sure to carpool and park in the side lot if possible. I
think last year, people parked on the grass because of the great attendance.
What are you working on? I made a bunch of heart pillows along with the BOM, and
Cornerstone Lutheran Comfort Dogs
At the October meeting we had the honor of gifting a quilt made of neck scarves for a comfort dog that had passed away. Naomi was the dog’s name and several guild members worked on the quilt from piecing the scarves to quilting it. Naomi’s handler was in tears as the quilt was presented to her.
Magdelene, the church’s current comfort dog was in attendance along with several of her handlers. The guild makes Magdelene’s scarves, and if you’d like to make a scarf
October President’s Letter
Dear Friends,
We were invited (last minute) to participate in the Fishers Farmers Market “Club Day” on September 21st. With lots of member help (and the loan of a canopy from Allyn Baker), we set up a table with quilts, tables, and chairs from the storeroom (thanks, Diane Dimpfl!). Melissa Schulman brought a wagon to help set up and teardown – and lug the bags of salt needed to “tether” the canopy. It was fun to hang out with Teresa Barnes, Judy MacDonald, Helene
October Community Sewing Bee is Cancelled
10/21 Charity Sew-in is cancelled due to a conflict booking for Suite 160. The store room will be open 9:30 to 3 so you can turn your quilts, mug rugs and you can shop. If you want to help with mug rugs, we can sew at the work tables in the store room (bring extension cords). Sorry for this change.
Quilt Show Volunteers Needed

We need 3 to 5 additional Volunteers to help Val B. at the Mudsock Quilt Show with setting up the 6- and 8-foot tables and chairs in the church lobby, to also assist vendors with set-up before the Quilt Show 8 AM on November 9th.
Second:
We need 5 to 6 additional Volunteers to help Val B. at the Mudsock Quilt Show with replacing the 6- and 8- foot tables and chairs to the correct place at Cornerstone church and to also assist vendors with packing and carrying

September President’s Letter
Dear Friends,
A few of us spent 2 hours re-folding Vicki S’s quilts at her husband’s request. (Vicki was a beloved member who passed away last year.) There were well over 100 quilts some with deep personal meaning. We could see Vicki’s journey as a quilter as we laid out each quilt and carefully folded it on the bias to prevent permanent creases. Obviously, she was a prolific and very talented quilter and we talked with Bob as we oohed and aahed over each beautiful piece of work.
Board Meeting Date Change!
The board meeting scheduled for September 6 has been rescheduled to August 30th.
All members are welcome to attend. Click this link for further details.
August President’s Letter
Dear Friends,
I hope you all had as much fun quilting as I did in July! The week ended with “Mary Camp,” where a young cousin comes and stays with us for a week. We focus on new experiences and learning new skills. This year, she learned to make Mudslides and Rose Sangria – no alcohol for her, of course – but yummy for me! She also wanted to make a quilt, and we used a 3-yard pattern that was perfect for a beginner. She sewed every stitch, and the binding went together on
No-Sew Fabric Pumpkins
On September 14 Dianne D. has graciously offered to host an open house (including treats) to teach us the art of making a No-Sew Fabric Pumpkin just in time for Fall. This should be a really fun class, and you will have a beautiful fall decoration to display in your home!

The racers of Mudsock Quilters Guild were at it again. This time they gather in July to run the Brickyard 400 at the new Indianapolis speedway at Community North Health Pavilion. They were in their seats and ready to start racing at 9:00 am. This year we used the Bricks Pattern for our quilt tops. This versatile pattern can create many different looks by the placement of your fabrics.

President’s Letter for June
Dear Friends,
Our June meeting will take place at Delaware Township Center. As I mentioned at our May meeting, Cornerstone Lutheran will be having Vacation Bible Camp – so unless you want to volunteer at their event, please come to Delaware Township Center.
I’m excited about our program for the meeting and I also signed up for the Workshop on Tuesday. Maybe I’ll get some ideas for the July challenge…

As a result of the anticipated crush of traffic headed to our area and lots of planned events regarding the eclipse, we have moved our general meeting to April 15th – same time, same place, just a week later. Do you have your special glasses? I do, and I’m planning to watch from the comfort of my driveway. Maybe with a celebratory cocktail – it will be 5:00 somewhere!
