Greetings! I am looking forward to this year and all the quilty things we can accomplish as a guild and individually. Whether you are a new sewist, a new quilter, a domestic quilter, a long armer, a hand stitcher, there’s something for everyone. Our guild is known for its friendly welcome of everyone and how generous and helpful we are. We have grown by leaps and bounds the last 2-3 years; with this growth as members we need to intentionally reach out and find ways to continue the friendly warm welcome.
Our 1st meeting is January 13th. We will highlight the coming year and find out some new things about each of us. Come to find out what you have in common and what you would like to learn about in the coming year. The meeting starts promptly at 9:30, come early to socialize and find a new member or guest to sit with.
We are going to experiment with a new show and tell. You may show and tell about two items that you have made, unfinished quilts are acceptable if they will be gifted prior to the next meeting. Place your items on the chairs when you arrive. You will be able to view the quilts during our break and we will show and tell the second half of the meeting. After you show your quilt, you will take it back to your seat with you, so it goes home with you!
A goal for the year is to increase awareness of where you can display your beautiful work. Watch for info as it becomes available on the website and in the newsletter. If you have a quilt entered in a show, tell us so we can recognize you! It is the only way we will know.
I have some quilting goals this year, how about you? I am going to be more intentional to quilt small quilts on my domestic machine and to continue to plan and use my stash. I am going to design 1st with the software I have and use my Accuquilt to cut as much as possible. I would like to complete a couple of family gifts this year and a Christmas wall hanging in addition to my charity quilts, pillows, and pillowcases.
See you January 13th, bring your name tag, show and tell, $1 for Cornerstone.
Gotta go bind my quilts for show and tell….
