MUDSOCK QUILTER’S GUILD GLOSSARY

MUDSOCK QUILTERS GUILD GLOSSARY

Mudsock Quilters Guild is a not-for-profit organization designed to bring people together with a love of quilting.  We encourage camaraderie, learning from one another, and educational opportunities led by quilting experts.  We also promote philanthropy by participating in various charity quilt programs.

A quick list of terms used in our meetings, please see our website for details/instructions. Dates for all events are on the website calendar. All contact information is available to members only on our website.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH – Each month there is a new block to complete and turn in for a chance to win blocks. Turn in as many blocks as you like, but no more than 5 entries each month. Block of the month patterns will be available on the Mudsock website. Additionally, each month there will be a printed pattern on the BOM table for members to take a photo of from their mobile device.

BUS TRIP – Odd years we plan a bus trip to a quilt show or place of quilty interest

CHALLENGE – Each year Programs will organize a guild ‘challenge’, with unique themes and/or requirements.  The ‘challenge’ criteria is announced, then members wishing to participate will typically have 3-4 months to complete a piece that aligns with the criteria.  It’s fun to see how members come up with their own interpretation of the ‘challenge’ guidelines, as they show their quilt/project in a guild meeting.  There is no right or wrong interpretation and the goal is for all to participate no matter their skill level.
