In March, our program will include the introduction of this year’s Challenge Quilt Theme, as well as some fun ‘get to know you activities’. The Challenge Quilt Reveal (when you show your creation) will be in July, so there is lots of time this year!
Programs:
On March 10 in our Guild Meeting we will introduce the theme for our Guild Challenge Quilt. For those new to the guild, each year we have a challenge quilt program, open to all, with participation by all encouraged. This year the challenge will run from its introduction in March, to the reveal (basically a show and tell) of each challenge quilt creation in our July guild meeting. The goal of having a challenge is to encourage creativity and it’s fun to see how the theme is interpreted by each of our members! There is no right or wrong in this – so please plan to participate! If you can’t make it to the March meeting, please look for this year’s challenge theme on the website following the March meeting. Also, at our March meeting we will have some fun ‘getting to know you’ activities so please come prepared to meet new friends!
In our April 14 meeting, Shannon Arnstein from Muncie, will be joining us and sharing her designs. Shannon is an author, designer, and a quilt sample maker for RJR Fabrics. On April 15 (Tuesday) from 9am – 2pm Shannon will be conducting a half day workshop on use of fabric panels in quilt designs. The cost of this workshop will be $30. There are still a few spots open for this workshop and you can sign up by contacting Jayne G. Sign-ups will be available at the March meeting, so please bring cash or a check to sign up at that time. There are panels available in our storeroom that can be used for the workshop BUT ONLY IF the end result will be a quilt made for charity. Also, there will be some panels available for sale ($5) at the Steals and Deals table, for use if you’d like to make a quilt that you may keep (not donate).
