The winter is flying by, I see signs of spring- My daffodils and crocuses are peeking out through the remaining snow last weekend. The cold kept me in, I had so much fun piecing and quilting instead of going places. I have been inspired by pictures and posts in my social media feeds from Quilt Con and AQS to continue trying new ideas.
If you have not made a charity quilt for 2025- I encourage you to get started. I did an online quilt along with GE Quilt Designs and finished a simple but cool design in a week, quilted and bound. I learned to look at the finished measurements before I start, not the name of the finished size- the crib size was large enough for a charity quilt. Charity quilts are an excellent quilt to try/ practice new techniques, new quilting methods, practice your skills. I also learned I can walk into the storeroom with my pattern and say I want to make this quilt. The fantastic volunteers picked out my fabric for me and home I went ready to sew!
We will continue the “new show and tell” it has been fun to see the quilts and chat about them. Start a conversation with someone you don’t know about the quilt.
Our March meeting will include audience participation as we learn more about each other in addition to the program.
Check out submitting a quilt to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show- we will all oh and ah over it when we are there and take pictures of you with it. https://quiltshow.com/quilt-contest/
