Dr. Tony Dickerson, Martin University, Indianapolis, IN

In honor of Black History Month, Tony Jean Dickerson ED. D. will present “Black Quilters: Hard Topics, Soft Blows.”

Dr. Dickerson is the Founding President of the Akoma Ntoso Modern Quilt Guild of Central Indiana. Tony began sewing at the young age of 6, receiving her first sewing machine for Christmas that year. She is a product of Home Economics, 4H and a family’s love for sewing. When she’s not quilting, she serves as the Dean of the School of Education at Martin University, focusing on the training and licensing of urban teachers through a unique Teacher Prep Program.
