Meet our May speaker, Claudia Nash of Presto Avenue Designs. She’ll present a trunk show and lecture. After the meeting there will be an opportunity to shop from Presto Avenue Design’s offerings.
I have lived in Speedway, Indiana most of my life. I began teaching in the elementary grades in the early 1970’s I really loved teaching and learning. Although there were no quilters in my family, for some reason I decided I wanted to make a quilt. My first quilt
was big and rather boring, but I was hooked! My life has certainly changed since the 70’s, but my love of quilting has remained.
I retired early to help care for my parents and began working in a quilt shop part time. While working and teaching classes I found a new job, designing quilt patterns. This year, 2018, Presto Avenue Designs celebrates 10 years! It’s hard for me to believe that I have designed over 60 patterns. I still have more ideas and plenty of fabric, and an almost compulsive need to get the quilts out of my head. So I hope to continue making quilts as long as I can.
My husband and I have 11 grandchildren. They all live near us, and we are busy with
them often. I love to design, make quilts, teach others and be with other quilters. My
quilting friends have enriched my life so much. God has blessed me beyond measure.
