Our Hostess Extraordinaire, Laurie F, opened her to new members on Wednesday, May 17th. Current members, Amy A, Julie P, president Mary B, Margie I, Community Co-Chair Diane D, Programs Chair Cheri Wenger, and the storeroom gals Sally S and Linda G were on hand with snacks and drinks to welcome the new members and tell them all about the guild.
New members Martha R-who’s already become our Email Chair, Carol H, Ann H, and as yet un-named newbie* came out to meet the squad. The current members in attendance explained how the guild operates, the different events available to them, our committees and their functions, and general info, while getting to know the new members and their stories.
During Alice W’s 2019 presidency she began having the Meet & Greets to allow our new members an intimate setting to meet and get to know the guild and some of the ladies who make up our membership. We hope this creates a feeling of belonging to our new members and they are able to get questions answered from the experts. And who doesn’t love a coffee klatch! Current members bring goodies to sample and the hostess usually provides the drinks.
The Meet & Greets happen every quarter and all new members are welcome, even those who joined months ago. There’s no expiration on how new you are! Watch the calendar/email/FaceBook for the Meet & Greet announcement. And listen for the invitation to sign up at the meetings preceding the next meeting, probably sometime in August.
