What a wonderful speaker we had in March! Candy Grisham of ICandy Quilts joined us for an afternoon with awe inspiring quilts! How gorgeous were the colors, shapes, and whimsy? Stunningly gorgeous! Candy shared how the Dresden lends itself to so many variations and iterations, the possibilities are endless.
So many layers, so much depth, such vivid colors! All these aspects make for some show stopping quilts. Candy talked about the shapes that make up a Dresden, and how it doesn’t always have to be simple spokes. Piecing before cutting can create a wonderful play of color and contrast to make the plates shimmer and shine. How fortunate that we have Candy for 1 more day of learning.
Items of note from our general meeting: We had 99 members in attendance and several were watching online. March is the last month to renew your dues without losing access to FaceBook and some website areas. Upcoming sewing opportunities are March 21st and March 23rd at Delaware Township Offices. Starting in April the Community sewing, 3rd Monday of the month, will revert back to Community North Health Pavilion on 146th and Cumberland. Check the Calendar for dates and times. BOM for March was Frogs!
Our monthly Show and Tell was a chance for our members to share the talents they put to use in making quilts. And they don’t disappoint!
