June Greetings from Sandy Metzger

Well, do you think it is ever going to be spring? That is how I started last month’s letter. I’m still waiting for spring since we skipped it completely and jumped straight to summer. I guess we take what we get and try to make the best of it. Thank goodness for furnaces and air conditioners!!!

The meeting this month will be back at Fishers United Methodist in the Fellowship Hall. Please remember to bring food pantry items as a thank you for allowing us to use their facility. Everyone has been so generous and I am sure the churches appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I want to thank Laura Freiden, Tameria O’Dell, Linda Westbrook and April Sterling for working with me to update the guild bylaws. The committee met May 31 to amend the bylaws to reflect some changes that will help our guild grow and function more effectively. The proposed changes will be posted on the website soon and will be discussed briefly at our meeting. We will be voting to adopt the new bylaws at the July meeting. Please take the time to review the bylaws before then, and contact me or another Board member with concerns or questions.

I am so excited to see all the submissions for our Inaugural Quilt Challenge at our meeting in June. It will be interesting to see the creativity and workmanship in each of the projects. We have so many talented quilters, I’m sure it will be awesome!

Don’t forget the other activities in progress like Block of the Month, Community North quilting bee, and planning for the retreat in September. Remember to check the website for updates. Please also check your contact information to be sure it is up to date, and if not, let membership know any necessary changes.

Happy sewing and see you all at the next meeting!

Sandy Metzger
