What a fun day of sewing we had! And oh my, the secrets we learned about Sally Sandilands! Let me tell you all about it. It seems that Sally had a former life which involved Motorcycle Gangs and Pole Dancing, but you didn’t hear it from me. Oh wait, you did! Be sure to ask her the next time you see her, I believe there is photographic proof out there? She might even be persuaded to do a program on Pole Dancing at one of the monthly meetings.
Several of the BOM committee and the Sew Bee’rs joined forces this month for sewing at the Delaware Township Offices. What a treasure the Township Trustee and staff are. We are so thankful for their generosity which allows us to gather and sew while we catch up on everyone’s lives. We are planning to make a wall hanging to show our appreciation for the use of their wonderful accommodations.
Here’s a show and tell of what we worked on!
A few Sail Boats from the BOM pattern floated by
It’s rumored that Susan Juffer brings her entire sewing room with her, and fortunately for everyone else it’s quite true. She saw many items go missing from her table during the day. Several members made their BOM Sail Boat blocks, with Peggy completing 2 blocks! I had quite a few sessions with Susan’s seam ripper while making my block. Not pictured are Susan’s and new member Sharon Jone’s Sail Boats. Lynn Summers, Becky Mathison, Linda Richey and Susan were all working on charity items, while Lois Levine and I worked on personal projects. Linda Garzynski and Judy Schaff also worked on personal projects, but the two of them were working with Kaffe Fassett prints. Sally Sandilands was busy keeping us entertained with her stories of Poll Dancing, but she did manage to work a bit on her Thin Blue Line commissioned piece for a retiring Carmel Police Dept employee.
I am sure you would hear some interesting stories if you joined us next month. There are 2 dates to come out and sew, July 13th, BOM/UFO sew in, and July 20th, Delaware Sew Bee. All members are welcome to attend.
