Weeks Ringle’s visit to Mudsock Quilt Guild was a success. We had the biggest turnout at a monthly meeting in our guild’s history. Thank you to all who helped make sure everything went smoothly.
She presented a lecture entitled Color in a Supporting Role and then showed us two dozen quilts that she and Bill Kerr have made over the years. She brought a different perspective of what “modern” quilts look like. She answered questions about pre-washing fabric, her favorite batting, and how they quilt their quilts. Here are a few photos from the presentation.
Her workshops were well attended and were educational and transformational. Imagine, going to a quilt shop with a shopping list!
Coming Up Next…
At our May 13th meeting, Sandy Metzger and Cindy Lazar will lead us in unveiling our challenge quilting projects. It will fun to see what everyone has done with their four fat quarters. Come and see what our members have created!
In June, we have Cathy Geier from Racine, WI visiting us. She is presenting a strip landscape piecing workshop on Saturday, June 8th. This workshop is sold out with a waiting list. On Monday, June 10th she will present a trunk show and tell us about her quilting journey. If you aren’t familiar with her, please Google her. She has a number of award winning quilts. There is a $5.00 visitor fee for this meeting.
The July 8th meeting will be a change of pace. Janie Gunn, owner and founder of Source Yoga in Fishers, IN will lead us through some basic yoga stretches that should help those of us with neck and shoulder tightness from hunching over our sewing machines for hours on end. Wear something comfy so you can easily stretch. With any luck, we’ll all feel like new women!
