So many things are happening at the guild! We are growing and extending our talents into many new endeavors. I think everyone has noticed that the meetings are getting busier and there are many fun ways to get involved in guild activities.

It was amazing to see all the submissions for our Inaugural Quilt Challenge at our meeting in June. We had about 20 small quilts inspired by a random crayon color. Although the theme was “star”, there were 20 different interpretations of that theme. What a beautiful display of our creative talents!! Congratulations to our winners, Becky and Bev, and to everyone who participated.

We are still actively involved in making quilts for Community North, Little Dresses for Africa, and our various smaller sewing groups. Thank you to Lois LeVine for exploring the options in our communities for donating childrens’ items. She presented us with several wonderful options of agencies that need quilts and pillowcases for children. Other guild activities include Block of the Month and planning for the retreat in September, as well as planning for the speakers at our meetings.

The proposed changes to our bylaws are posted on the website. We will be voting to adopt the new bylaws at the July meeting. Please take the time to review the bylaws before then, and contact me or another Board member with concerns or questions. We will also need 3 members of the guild to be on the nominating committee for our officers for next year. If you would like to be on the nominating committee or the Mudsock board, please contact one of the current officers to volunteer. We will vote on the bylaws in July, present our candidates for office in August, and vote on the Board members in September.

The meeting this month will be back at Cornerstone Lutheran Church. Our meetings for the rest of the year, unless otherwise posted, will be at Cornerstone. Please remember to bring food pantry items as a thank you for allowing us to use their facility. Also, they are collecting baby items, so those items are also gratefully accepted. Come see what projects are being demonstrated for Christmas in July.

WOW!!! There is so much going on at Mudsocks! It is a privilege to be part of such a vibrant organization!

Happy sewing and see you all at the next meeting!
