The year is coming to an end, and my time as the president of the Mudsock Quilters Guild is almost over. It has been a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful organization! I moved to Indiana from Michigan just over 3 years ago, and the only people I knew here were my daughter, her husband, my grandson, and a few of my daughter’s friends. Because of my association with Mudsocks, I now have many acquaintances, and quite a few new friends. I am looking forward to having more time at meetings to spend getting to know more of you.
Mudsock Quilters Guild has so many talented and generous members. I am proud to have guided the organization with the assistance of the other board members and committee chairs. We have grown so much since I joined, and we have new leaders in place that will help keep us vital and growing. There are so many opportunities to participate in committees, smaller sewing groups and activities, and we continue to add more.
The meeting this month will be our Holiday Celebration at Cornerstone Lutheran Church. We will be meeting at our usual 9:30 am start time. In past years, we started the meeting at 10:30 am, but we want to have more time to socialize, so we will be starting at our normal time. We will have a short meeting, then start the PARTY!
Please remember to bring food pantry items as a thank you for allowing us to use their facility. We also have the opportunity to donate to a toy drive at the church for the holidays. Check the Mudsock website for more information about that. There will not be sewing at the church in the afternoon.
I want to thank each one of you for your support over the past years. Happy sewing and see you all at the next meeting!
