Amy Friend from During Quiet Time will present  “Intentional Piecing”. We will learn how to use fussy cutting in our quilting.

From Amy: When I was a little girl, I said I wanted to grow up to be a mommy and an artist. I’d like to think that I am just that! I am the mother to three children. Previously, I studied art history and worked as a museum collections curator. I made the choice to say home with my children when my second child was born.  I now express my creative side through sewing and pattern design. Early on, I found time for this “during quiet time” when the kids were napping or at least enjoying some quiet in their rooms.  Nowadays, I sew while they are at school.

I love varying the style of my quilts but generally lean toward modern quilting.  My real passion is paper piecing.  I love everything from the design process through fabric selection and sewing.

About the Zoom Meeting: This approximately one hour long trunk show will focus on the quilts found in Amy’s book, Intentional Piecing, but may include additional quilts as well. She will use these quilts to illustrate types of fussy cutting and to discuss fabric selection in general. How can you pick the best fabric for a pattern? How can a pattern really showcase a fabric design?
Amy’s books and patterns are available on her website.  She is offering online workshops for individuals that can be purchased on her website.

This meeting will be held on Zoom. Please log in to access the registration page for the Zoom Meeting Links
