February General Meeting and Program

Connie Lancaster made her first quilt in 1978, with the help of her mom. It was a giant LeMoyne Star quilt using forest green, rust, and cream calico prints. (You know those colors!)

Since then, Connie has gone on to become a teacher and lecturer, workshop leader, pattern designer, longarm machine quilter and teacher, and shop owner. Her over 40 years of experience in all types of quilting have led her to becoming a modern quilt lover.

Her presentation, titled Blue Ribbon Binding, is the result of that experience. Having assisted with quilt judging and interviewed many quilt judges, she has learned what makes a ribbon winning binding and will show you how! From calculating, to cutting, to sewing, to hand finishing, you will learn the best techniques of proper binding.

Quilts Plus has been a top quilt shop in the Central Indiana area since 1976. Just the fourth owner in all that time, Connie has kept the shop glowing and lively with fun, bright prints, Moda Bella solids and Grunge, vivid batiks and great notions. The shop is located just off the downtown square in Lebanon, IN at 212 West Main Street.

Shop hours are Tuesdays 1:30 to 5:30, Wednesdays through Fridays 11 to 4 and Saturdays 9 to 3 pm. Other times by chance or by appointment. During the week, feel free to park in either of the Huntington Bank parking lots or on the street with no time limit. Weekends…park anywhere!
