Delaware Sew Bee Day

What a fun day we had! 8 members got out for sewing at Delaware on the 27th, and 1 Munchkin joined us! The theme for the day seemed to be forgetfulness or mis-cutting. Each of us experienced some misstep! LOL.

Susan was working on placemats and Lois was making a zippered bag with fabric purchased during the recent Shop Hop.

Linda was tacking a binding down and Sally sandwiched a charity quilt.

Becky was working on a small zippered pouch

Laurie brought knitting with her.

And recent new member Julie joined us to work on a quilt for her Nephew who is a West Point Cadet.

Chris pieced this simple baby quilt top and attended to Squish, the Munchkin.

So, the mishaps? Chris almost forgot her sewing machine, but remembered it right before she left home. However, she didn’t remember her wedge ruler to use to cut Dresden Plates while at sewing. So she worked on the baby quilt and cut one of the strip sets 1/4″ smaller. Lois forgot the 2 zippers she bought for her Zippered Bag, so she went to Always In Stitches to buy new ones. Julie cut some units the wrong size. Susan had issues with trimming some HSTs the correct size. Linda forgot to bring a sewing needle. Sally forgot to bring Scissors. Laurie had a small knitting issue. I think Becky was the only one who had smooth sailing! But the laughter shared made up for all the missteps! Be sure to come out and join us each month on the 4th Wednesday for personal project sewing! It’s a great way to make friends and get involved. Becky and Julie found out they had several friends in common from their time spent living in Columbus IN. You never know what you might have in common with another guild member!
